Simon takes part in the exhibition “THE INDELIBLES. A journey through the history and international presence of Spanish brands”

Barcelona, 27 October, 2015 – Simon, the electrical industry’s leading developer of technological and decorative solutions for the home and professional environment, takes part in the exhibition “THE INDELIBLES. A journey through the history and international presence of Spanish brands”. The exhibition is organized by the Leading Brands of Spain Forum (FMRE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM), and the Office of the Government’s High Commissioner for the Spain Brand.

Various exhibition rooms invite visitors to travel in time through the “History of Spanish Brands”. Displayed in a section titled “Right at Home” are Simon ads, posters and the brand’s well-known Detail 82 switch, which represent the brand’s cutting-edge design. The evolution of the company logo over the course of its almost-100-year trajectory can be viewed in another section.

“These brands have a presence in our lives. We live with them. They are with us in our daily routines. Many of them have been with us, forming part of our history, for decades – centuries even. “These brands have left a lasting impression, so much so that it would be difficult to imagine our society without them,” José Luis Bonet, the FMRE president, said.

“THE INDELIBLES. A journey through the history and international presence of Spanish brands” takes a retrospective look at the history of some of the most emblematic Spanish brands through the evolution of their image, advertising and most iconic products. The exhibition shows how many of these products of Spanish origin have international standing today and are present in leading markets across the globe. There are also ads, products, logos and all kinds of historic and contemporary pieces from brands such as Iberia, Osborne, Santander, Freixenet, Colacao, La Española, Torres, Telefónica, Estrella Galicia, Tío Pepe, Iberdrola, Repsol, La Caixa, Mango, Gas Natural Fenosa, and Roca. These companies have opened their archives to share a heritage that has been in the making for many decades.
